Michigan PSC Approves Settlement Agreement Resolving Outstanding Issues In Consumers Energy’s Simple Renewable Program
The Michigan Public Service Commission (PSC) approved settlement agreement resolving all outstanding issues in Consumers Energy proposed Simple Renewable Program and its proposed tariff revisions.
Per the settlement agreement, parties agree: (1) to approval of “the Simple Renewable program for the limited purpose of providing an option” for Experimental Advanced Renewable Program (EARP) participants who will not be participating in Consumers’ DG program, with parties who later choose to participate when their facilities become eligible not being subject to waiting periods or fees; (2) that if Consumers decides to cap its DG program it will “file an application presenting the options available to customers with Distributed Generation systems” once the enrolled DG capacity is equal to 90% of its DG cap either overall or for an individual category; and (3) that Consumers will file a report on DG capacity allocation by December 31, 2024.
