PA PUC Open Proceeding Re: PGW’s Petition For Declaratory Order For Nonpayment Of Undisputed Gas Bills By Landlord Ratepayers
The PAPUC issued a secretarial letter in response to the PGW petition, opening the proceeding for answers and interventions.
The secretarial letter was published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin, opening the period for answers and interventions.
As background, PGW filed petition for declaratory order regarding termination of service for nonpayment of undisputed gas bills by landlord ratepayers.
According to the utility alleges it is facing a situation in which it faces “uncertainty and controversy” because of “…ongoing efforts by some landlord ratepayers to avoid the consequences of not paying their gas bills. Those landlord ratepayers are using litigation before the civil courts to avoid or delay all collection efforts by PGW. Certain landlord ratepayers have even recently obtained an injunction from a Philadelphia Common Pleas Court prohibiting PGW from terminating service at their residential buildings, indefinitely, without first seeking leave of the court.”
