PURA Approves Utility’s Last Resort Service Rates
On February 18, 2026, the Connecticut Public Utilities Authority or PURA approved UI’s proposed LRS rates as filed. As a reminder, for customers on Rate GST or Rate LPT.
“On February 17, 2026, pursuant to General Statutes §§ 16-19b and 16-244c, and the August 20, 2008 Decision in Docket No. 06-01-08RE02, DPUC Development and Review of Standard Service and Supplier of Last Resort Service – Protocol for Public Disclosure of Procurement Information (Procurement Decision), 1 The United Illuminating Company (UI or Company) filed a motion (Motion No. 3) with the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (Authority or PURA) requesting incorporation of the results of the Company’s most recent power procurement for Supplier of Last Resort Service (LRS) into a new Generation Services Charge (GSC) effective April 1, 2026. Motion No. 3, p. 1.”
For customers on Rate GST or Rate LPT, the following will apply:
- 4/26 – Peak 10.7479 ¢/kWh, Off Peak 11.9459 ¢/kWh
- 5/26 – Peak 10.5209 ¢/kWh, Off Peak 11.2059 ¢/kWh
- 6/26 – Peak 12.2139 ¢/kWh, Off Peak 11.6519 ¢/kWh
