Texas PUC File “Review Of Ancillary Services In the ERCOT Market”
TPUC Staff issued a Draft Commission Findings on AS Study:
{***}. Commission Staff filed its analysis, recommendations and suggested next steps in this project on November 15,2024. These recommendations were intended to address the requirements of PURA § 35.004(g) (SB3, 87R) and were structured around seven policy topics.
At the November 21 and December 12, 2024, open meetings, the commissioners discussed these topics as laid out by Staff. Staff and ERCOT Staff answered questions and the IMM was also in attendance to assist as needed.
Based on the commissioners’ open meeting discussions, Staff has provided draft Commission findings on each topic. These findings, along with an updated AS Study report that includes Staff recommendations, will be included in the PUC’s biennial agency report.
Staff’s intention is to finalize a version of these findings at the December 19, 2024 open meeting, allowing the Commission to recommend a path forward for utilizing the results of this study to best benefit the ERCOT market.”{***}
