On March 6th the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) issued order approving NJG&E and Staff’s settlement agreement brought against third-party supplier New Jersey Gas & Electric (NJG&E) for failing to timely submit updated information for its annual license renewal.

Parties agreed: (1) NJG&E will pay a fine of $6,660; and (2) Staff will recommend BPU approve NJG&E’s initial license application.

As a reminder, his action is being brought against third-party supplier New Jersey Gas & Electric (NJG&E) for failing to timely submit updated information for its annual license renewal.

Per the proposed settlement, the failure was due to:

(1) a calendaring error in the internal system of Vistra, NJG&E’s parent company; and

(2) BPU failing to send a reminder email to Vistra regarding NJG&E’s license renewal, despite sending reminders for its other licensed entities.

NJG&E subsequently submitted an initial application in response to notice of its failure to renew.
